UAE Sets New Petrol and Diesel Rates for January 2026
The UAE has announced a reduction in petrol and diesel prices for January 2026, reversing the upward trend from December and bringing relief to motorists across the country. All fuel categories have seen a noticeable decline, with Super 98, Special 95, and E‑Plus 91 petrol dropping to new rates, while diesel prices have also eased. This adjustment reflects global oil market trends and offers UAE drivers a welcome saving at the pump as the new year begins.
The UAE Fuel Price Committee revealed the updated petrol and diesel rates on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, which will come into effect from 1 January 2026.
The new prices show a decline across all major fuel categories compared with December, providing motorists with noticeable savings at the pump. Super 98, Special 95, and E‑Plus 91 petrol, along with diesel, have all been adjusted downward, reflecting both global oil market trends and the country’s commitment to stable fuel pricing for residents.
The updated fuel prices are as follows:
- The UAE has reduced fuel prices for January 2026, bringing relief to motorists after December’s increases. Super 98 petrol will now cost Dh2.53 per litre, down from Dh2.70,
- while Special 95 petrol is priced at Dh2.42, reduced from Dh2.58.
- E‑Plus 91 petrol has dropped to Dh2.34 per litre from Dh2.51, and diesel now comes in at Dh2.55 per litre, down from Dh2.85 last month.
These adjustments mark a noticeable decline across all major fuel types in the UAE.
Since the UAE deregulated fuel prices in 2015, petrol and diesel rates have been revised monthly to reflect global market trends. After a rise in December 2025, the latest adjustment for January 2026 brings lower prices across all major fuel categories, offering relief to motorists and transport operators alike. Super 98, Special 95, and E‑Plus 91 petrol, along with diesel, have all seen reductions, marking a fresh start to the year with more affordable fuel for residents and businesses.
The UAE Fuel Price Committee’s latest revision continues the country’s policy of ensuring transparency and aligning domestic rates with global fuel market movements. The adjustments affect all major fuel categories, including Super 98, Special 95, E‑Plus 91 petrol, and diesel, providing direct savings to consumers as the new year begins. With rates dropping from December levels, motorists and transport operators benefit from more affordable fuel, reflecting the UAE’s ongoing commitment to fair and market-linked pricing.
