Varun Dhawan is set to headline Border 2 during the Republic Day weekend, alongside Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, under Anurag Singh’s direction. The trailer drops on January 15 in tribute to Indian Army Day. In the run-up, the cast joined Navy officers and sailors at Karwar Naval Base for a celebratory interaction. Varun, essaying Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, emphasized the weight of responsibility in portraying the decorated PVC officer.

During the event, Varun remarked, “Trailer kal aayega aur film January 23 ko release hogi, Darshak humare mai-baap hote hai, joh voh kehte hai voh hum maan lete hai. January 23 ko voh tay karenge film ka kismet aur mera kismet.”

He also talked about the soundtrack of Border 2. Varun mentioned, “Border ka album bahut hit hua tha, mujhe lagta hai Border 2 ka album bhi hit hoga. Anu sir ke saath meri bohot yaadein hain. Voh harmonium lekar mere ghar aate the mere pitaji ko gaane sunane ke liye. Is aadmi ki range dekhiye. David Dhawan se lekar JP Dutta tak, is vyakti ki range lajawab hai.”
The Border album was a huge success, and I’m confident the music of Border 2 will strike a chord with audiences as well. I have fond memories of Anu sir, who often visited our home with his harmonium to share songs with my father. His versatility is extraordinary — spanning collaborations from David Dhawan to JP Dutta.
