Republic Day, observed on 26 January, honors the historic day in 1950 when India embraced its Constitution, stepping away from the old colonial law and beginning a new journey of freedom and self‑governance.

On Monday, India will proudly celebrate its 77th Republic Day, beginning with the iconic parade on Kartavya Path near India Gate in New Delhi — a grand spectacle that draws thousands from across the nation.
This year’s Republic Day will begin with President Droupadi Murmu hoisting the National Flag, followed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying tribute at the National War Memorial. Adding to the grandeur, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa will grace the occasion as chief guests.
