Railway Alert: Several Trains Cancelled Between January 1 and March 1

Train Cancellation Update: Owing to dense winter fog and low visibility conditions, Indian Railways has revised the schedules of multiple train services. As part of these changes, several trains are expected to remain cancelled during the January–March period. Passengers planning to travel are strongly advised to verify the latest train status and schedule updates in advance to avoid inconvenience and last-minute disruptions.

Train Cancellation News: As winter sets in, travel challenges for passengers are expected to rise. With dense fog affecting visibility across many parts of North India, train speeds are often reduced as a safety measure. Like every year, Indian Railways has begun making advance arrangements to prioritize passenger safety. However, fog-related conditions frequently lead to significant delays, and in some cases, authorities are forced to temporarily cancel train services on select routes to ensure safe operations.

In this context, Indian Railways is planning to cancel multiple train services between January and March as a precautionary step. Several train pairs running through Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, along with those starting from Delhi, are likely to be impacted by this move. Passengers intending to travel by train in the coming weeks are advised to check the updated cancellation list in advance to avoid inconvenience.

Reason Behind the Train Cancellations

Indian Railways has taken this step keeping passenger safety and smooth operations in mind. During the winter season, dense fog severely affects the punctuality of long-distance trains, raising the chances of operational challenges and safety concerns. To avoid major disruptions, the railways plan such measures well in advance. The foggy conditions are usually at their peak between December and February, making precautionary decisions necessary during this period.

As a result, a number of train services are being temporarily withdrawn during this timeframe. East Central Railway has announced the suspension of operations for 24 pairs of trains as part of this move. The cancellations will be carried out in phases rather than simultaneously to minimize inconvenience. Passengers are strongly encouraged to confirm the latest train status before starting their journey and plan alternate travel options if required.
