The Indian car market is set for a packed January 2026, as Kia, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Renault, Tata, and MG prepare to launch seven new or upgraded vehicles. Expect sleeker designs, tech-loaded cabins, stronger safety suites, and a mix of petrol and electric powertrains.

Kia Seltos (Second Generation)
Launching January 2, 2026, Kia’s second-generation Seltos arrives on the new K3 platform with a sharper, more upright design. The SUV’s front fascia features a wide grille, squared LED headlamps, and vertical DRLs, while the rear sports inverted L-shaped tail-lamps and a bumper-mounted number plate. The interior has been thoroughly modernized, offering dual 12.3-inch digital displays, ventilated seating, panoramic sunroof, Bose audio, 360-degree camera, wireless connectivity, OTA updates, and Level 2 ADAS. Engine choices remain unchanged, with petrol and diesel units available across manual, CVT, IMT, and DCT transmissions.
Mahindra XUV 7XO
Launching January 5, Mahindra’s XUV 7XO updates the XUV700 with a new grille, lighting tweaks, and alloy wheels inspired by its EVs. Inside, a triple-screen dashboard and flexible seating are expected. The SUV retains its 2.0 petrol and 2.2 diesel engines, with manual, automatic, and AWD options.
Skoda Kushaq Facelift
Scheduled for mid-January, Skoda’s Kushaq facelift introduces exterior tweaks including revised bumpers, a refreshed grille, and modern LED tail-lamps. Interior enhancements include a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, and advanced driver-assist features, with pricing positioned to stay attractive within the compact SUV segment.
New Renault Duster
Returning on January 26, the all-new Renault Duster ushers in a new era for the brand in India. Inspired by the Bigster concept, the SUV has been completely redesigned with a tougher stance, Y-shaped LED lights, muscular cladding, squared arches, and elevated ground clearance. Inside, it features a rugged dashboard, digital displays, wireless connectivity, ventilated seating, and advanced driver-assistance systems. While global versions offer hybrid and 4×4 options, the India-spec model is expected to launch with a turbo-petrol engine.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara
Maruti Suzuki will unveil its first all-electric midsize SUV, the e-Vitara, this January. Built on the Heartect-e platform, the model adopts a muscular design inspired by the eVX concept. The cabin features dual floating displays, a redesigned centre console, and Level 2 ADAS. Buyers will have a choice of two LFP battery packs—49kWh and 61kWh—with the larger unit offering a claimed range of up to 500 km
Nissan Gravite
Nissan is set to enter the sub-four-metre MPV segment with the Gravite, a seven-seater built on the Triber platform. It will feature a practical 2+3+2 seating arrangement, an 8-inch touchscreen, enhanced safety equipment, and competitive pricing targeted at family-oriented buyers.
Toyota Urban Cruiser EV
Toyota’s electric SUV, closely related to the Maruti e-Vitara, is expected to be unveiled in January, with a market launch by March. It will feature two battery options, a long driving range, connected tech and Level 2 ADAS, positioning it as a premium electric offering.
Tata Punch Facelift
Tata is preparing a facelift for the Punch that brings refreshed design elements, a more modern interior, and a larger infotainment screen. The petrol engine lineup is expected to continue as is, though the EV version could benefit from range enhancements. Safety upgrades include six airbags as standard equipment.
2026 MG Hector Diesel
MG has unveiled the refreshed Hector, with diesel variant pricing scheduled for January. The facelift introduces minor exterior changes, new colour choices, and a revamped cabin featuring a larger 14-inch touchscreen, gesture controls, and improved connected technology. Mechanical options remain the same, including the Fiat-sourced diesel engine.
