Border 2 registers a powerful Day 1 box office, outpacing Dhurandhar as audiences embrace large-scale patriotic cinema.
Border 2 opened strongly at the box office, earning ₹30 crore net on Day 1 in India. Despite mixed reviews, the film’s pre-release buzz and star power ensured large crowds, placing it ahead of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar (₹28 crore). While it trails Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and the recent hit Chhaava, the opening confirms strong audience interest.
Advance bookings fueled Border 2’s strong start, with ₹12.5 crore collected before release. Over 4 lakh tickets were sold across 16,000 shows nationwide, while premium formats like IMAX, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema added to revenue. Spot bookings on release day pushed the total to ₹30 crore.
Border 2’s theatre occupancy showed steady growth through the day. Morning shows began moderately, but attendance surged in the afternoon and evening, with night screenings recording the highest turnout thanks to strong walk-in bookings.
Border 2 maintained over 30% occupancy nationwide on Day 1, with Delhi-NCR leading in show counts and attendance. Major metros like Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad also contributed strongly, indicating solid pan-India reach and promising word-of-mouth momentum for the weekend.
Anurag Singh’s Border 2, set during the 1971 India–Pakistan war, unites Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in lead roles. Supported by Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana, the film is positioned as a spiritual successor to the cult classic Border, blending patriotic fervor with battlefield drama and high-octane action.
