An Indian government-supported ride-hailing platform, Bharat Taxi, has officially begun operations in the Delhi-NCR region, expanding travel choices for local commuters beyond established players like Uber, Ola, and Rapido. The platform differentiates itself by promising a smoother booking experience, transparent pricing, and a zero-commission model for drivers. Bharat Taxi also emphasizes fixed and uniform fare structures, ensuring that ride prices remain unchanged during peak hours, adverse weather conditions, or periods of high demand.

As per a post shared by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, on X, Bharat Taxi has already surpassed four lakh registered users, with the platform reportedly adding nearly 45,000 new customers daily. The rapid adoption has also helped the app secure the ninth position on the Google Play Store rankings and the 13th spot on Apple’s App Store. Despite this early momentum, questions remain around its fare structure and whether Bharat Taxi truly offers more affordable rides compared to established cab-hailing services.

Bharat Taxi vs Ola vs Uber

To assess pricing differences, we compared fares on Bharat Taxi with Ola for a 25.2 km journey from Noida Film City to Aerocity, New Delhi. On Bharat Taxi, bike rides were listed at ₹191, while non-AC cab fares stood at ₹510 and AC cab rides at ₹562. In comparison, Ola showed lower prices in certain categories, with bike rides costing ₹255, Mini non-AC at ₹452, and Mini AC at ₹477, though sedan fares increased to ₹504.

Uber’s pricing for the same route appeared more competitive, with bike rides at ₹158, Uber Go at ₹409, and Premier also priced at ₹409. While the comparison highlights noticeable fare differences across platforms, Bharat Taxi’s rates remain relatively higher overall despite its fixed-pricing model.

The comparison indicated that Uber offered the lowest fares, followed by Ola, while Bharat Taxi emerged as the most expensive option. However, pricing may evolve as the service scales and refines its strategy.
