However, Dhurandhar dominated Day 2, collecting an impressive ₹35 crore, reflecting higher audience traction. This powerful second-day surge gave Dhurandhar a clear edge in early box office momentum.
Akhanda 2 registered a ₹9.45 crore overseas collection in two days, showing steady but moderate international response. In contrast, Dhurandhar performed better overseas on Day 2, collecting around ₹12 crore, indicating stronger global demand. This sharper overseas growth helped Dhurandhar gain an early edge beyond the domestic market.
Akhanda 2 recorded a strong ₹54.55 crore India gross in two days, reflecting solid theatrical pull. However, Dhurandhar stayed ahead on Day 2, earning around ₹35 crore, which boosted its early momentum. While Akhanda 2 remains consistent, Dhurandhar’s sharper second-day performance kept it in the lead during the initial phase.
Akhanda 2 achieved a ₹64.00 crore worldwide collection in just two days, indicating a strong overall start across markets. However, Dhurandhar showed greater Day 2 dominance, collecting around ₹47 crore worldwide, which highlighted its superior momentum. While Akhanda 2 holds steady globally, Dhurandhar’s explosive second day set it slightly ahead early on.

Budgets Of Akhanda 2
As per industry reports, Akhanda 2 has been produced on a very high budget, estimated between ₹120 crore and ₹200 crore, making expectations extremely high. According to trade norms, a film needs to earn nearly double its budget to be declared a hit. Even at a minimum cost of ₹120 crore, the film must collect around ₹240 crore worldwide. However, current box office trends suggest it may struggle to enter the ₹100 crore club, raising concerns about possible losses. In contrast, Akhanda (2021) was made on a much lower budget of ₹60–70 crore, earned nearly ₹150 crore worldwide, emerged as a profitable blockbuster, and even won a prestigious Telangana state award.
About Akhanda 2
Set in the tense aftermath of the Galwan clash, the story unfolds as a powerful Chinese general, driven by revenge for his son’s death, plans to destabilize India. With the help of a brilliant strategist and a corrupt local minister, he releases a deadly virus into the sacred Ganga during the Maha Kumbh, spreading panic and shaking people’s faith.
As fear grips the nation, the Prime Minister learns that Janani, a young and talented DRDO scientist, has developed a life-saving vaccine. When enemies attack her in Ladakh, Akhanda returns.
