Police arrest murder suspect in Greater Noida after short encounter, marking key progress in case.
Police in Noida have arrested Ankit Prajapati of Surajpur for the killing of a 27-year-old woman whose body was discovered beneath a parked car in Beta-2. The arrest came after a brief encounter in which the suspect was shot in the leg and later admitted to hospital under police guard.

Found Dead Under Parked Vehicle
Early Monday, residents in Beta-2 discovered a woman’s body concealed under a stationary vehicle near a park. Authorities quickly responded, cordoned off the scene, and dispatched the body for autopsy.
The victim, originally from Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh, lived in Beta-2 with her younger brother while working at a private call centre in Noida’s Sector 60. As the eldest of three siblings and the sole breadwinner after losing both parents, she supported her brothers—one residing with her in Greater Noida and the other employed in Jaipur. Neighbours remembered her as hardworking and dedicated, often working long hours to provide for her family.

According to police, Deepa left her residence on Sunday morning for work but did not come back. Her phone remained switched off, raising alarm for her younger brother. When she failed to return by nightfall, he reported her disappearance to the authorities.
The ‘One-Sided’ Lover
Investigators revealed that on Sunday evening, Deepa was walking from Delta Metro Station to Beta-2 when she reached a dimly lit stretch near a park. There, Ankit allegedly strangled her and concealed her body beneath a parked car before escaping.
Police stated that the murder stemmed from a one-sided love. Investigations revealed the accused and victim were once friends but had drifted apart. On Sunday, when the accused tried to reconcile and she refused, he allegedly killed her.
