With just a couple of days left for release, the excitement for Prabhas’ The Raja Saab and Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is reaching a fever pitch. Both films boast massive star power and are expected to make a strong impact at the box office, especially with their releases perfectly timed around the Pongal and Sankranti festivities.

Jana Nayagan carries extra weight for fans, as it is rumored to be Vijay’s final cinematic outing before he dives into full-time politics, adding an emotional layer to the anticipation. Directed by H Vinoth, the film has sparked discussions online, with many drawing parallels to popular Telugu action dramas, fueling curiosity about its story and execution. Meanwhile, audiences are eager to witness Thalapathy’s signature style and on-screen charisma in what promises to be a festival-season blockbuster showdown.

With Pongal and Sankranti around the corner, the hype for Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and Prabhas’ The Raja Saab is at an all-time high. While Jana Nayagan is emotionally significant for fans, marking Vijay’s rumored last film before politics, The Raja Saab offers a fun, family-friendly treat. Trade experts predict a fierce box-office clash when both release on January 9.

Jana Nayagan vs The Raja Saab: Who Will Rule the Screens?

Commenting on the growing excitement for Jana Nayagan and The Raja Saab, trade analyst Suresh Menon noted, “The anticipation for both films is huge, but advance bookings for The Raja Saab haven’t started yet in most regions. Jana Nayagan, however, has already seen early ticket openings in select theatres in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.” He added, “Currently, Jana Nayagan appears to have stronger per-theatre sales, especially in Tamil Nadu, while The Raja Saab is generating more attention in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In Karnataka, both films seem evenly matched, reflecting the widespread popularity of Vijay and Prabhas.”

Discussing the opening-day prospects for Jana Nayagan and The Raja Saab, industry expert Arjun Reddy remarked that Jana Nayagan seems to have an advantage in several international markets and is expected to register strong collections. Analyst Priya Chandran added that Vijay’s film is currently leading in overseas bookings. “We’ll have a clearer picture once ticket sales open in Telugu-speaking regions,” she noted.

She further explained that expectations are particularly high for Jana Nayagan, as it is rumored to be Vijay’s last film before politics. On the other hand, she said, “Director Maruthi’s previous outing received a mixed response, making The Raja Saab’s opening harder to predict, though Prabhas continues to be a major crowd puller.” She also highlighted, “Vijay’s consistent ability to attract a wide audience gives Jana Nayagan a notable edge.”

Jana Nayagan vs The Raja Saab: Who’s Leading in US Ticket Sales?

Industry expert Ramesh Bala noted that even though Jana Nayagan opened for US bookings later than The Raja Saab, the two films are currently tracking similar advance numbers. “Advance bookings give an early hint, but the real test will be the audience response after release.
