Parasakthi Moves Again, Gears Up
The makers of the upcoming Tamil film Parasakthi have once again revised its theatrical release plan. Directed by Sudha Kongara and headlined by Sivakarthikeyan, the film is now scheduled to hit screens on January 10, 2026, advancing its release by four days from the previously announced date. With this change, Parasakthi is set to arrive in cinemas alongside Vijay’s highly awaited final film Jana Nayagan, setting the stage for a major box office clash.
Parasakthi Release Date Changed Again
Production banner Dawn Pictures officially announced the updated release schedule for Parasakthi through its Instagram page on Monday. In a statement, the team confirmed that the film has been advanced to January 10, 2026, citing detailed discussions with exhibitors and distributors, many of whom reportedly showed strong faith in the film’s box office prospects during the festive window. The announcement also confirmed that Parasakthi will open in cinemas worldwide on the revised date.
Headlined by Sivakarthikeyan and Ravi Mohan, the cast also includes Atharvaa and Sreeleela. Set against the backdrop of the 1960s, the film is billed as a political period drama, with G V Prakash Kumar composing the music, Ravi K Chandran handling cinematography, and Sathish Suriya overseeing the editing.
Parasakthi–Jana Nayagan Box Office Clash
Sivakarthikeyan’s recent streak of three ₹100-crore successes appears to have bolstered the confidence of the Parasakthi team to move the film’s release forward. However, the decision places the film in direct competition with one of the most awaited Tamil releases in recent times — Jana Nayagan. Helmed by H Vinoth, the film features Vijay, widely regarded as the leading star in Tamil cinema today. Adding to its significance, Jana Nayagan marks Vijay’s last on-screen appearance before his full-time transition into politics.
The film boasts a star-studded ensemble including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani, and is slated to arrive in theatres on January 9, 2026.
